Who is Billie M/ Cook and What Are Her Passions?
1) Passion I: To explore and fully develop my Spiritual Gifts of Teaching, Encouragement and Discernment.
Years ago, a godly mentor of mine helped me to understand that all of my spiritual gifts are manifested/ demonstrated via the books and plays that I write. It is why I write what I write and how I write. I seek to encourage others to learn, accept and utilize their spiritual gifts as well.
2) Passion II: To grow and mature to become one of God’s Prayer Warriors by praying for and with others.
The gifted Christian fiction writer Frank Peretti (“This Present Darkness”) really opened my eyes to prayer and what can/ does happen when God’s people give themselves over to prayer. It is one of the few things of such great value that is never depleted, never spoils, cost nothing but yields invaluable dividends! For those of us in the household of faith, prayer is life.
3) Passion III: To be conscious and aware of the precious gift of Time; how I spend my Time and with whom I spend Time.
Our daughter, Jeanina’s passing (3/2011) has made me keenly aware of the lesson of Psalms 90:12, “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (NIV). For me that passage means to hold fast to the blessing of family and friends and to spend time seriously and joyfully.
4) Passion #4: Thrift Stores and Quilt Shows.
I love, love, love them! You never know what you will see/ find or be able to use.
